At 09h11, exactly, the time of the outrage, a minute's silence took place. Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel and other dignitaries laid flowers to commemorate the victims.

The names of the 16 Maalbeek victims were read out over the public announcement system.

On the morning of March 22nd, 2016, three coordinated suicide bombings occurred in Belgium: two at Brussels Airport in Zaventem, and one at Maalbeek metro station in central Brussels. Thirty-two civilians and three perpetrators were killed, and more than 300 people were injured.

Another bomb was found during a search of the airport. Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The gang has been linked to the November 2015 Paris attackers, which left 130 dead./.
