Cambodia-China trade reaches USD4.8 billion

Two-way trade between Cambodia and China was valued at USD4.8 billion in 2016, up USD200 million from a year ago.

Of the volume, Cambodia's export to China was more than USD830 million and China’s export was USD3.9 billion.

Cambodia exported goods, including rice and rubber to China, and imported construction materials, equipment and electronics.

Earlier, the Cambodian Trade Ministry predicted the two-way trade was only USD4.3 billion for 2016.

Besides, Cambodia received USD4.2 billion in development aid from China, including non-refundable aid and loans as of 2017. The assistance mainly focused on infrastructure development, agriculture, health care, education and social welfare./.
