The announcement was released in a meeting on July 16th in the Truce Village of Panmunjom in the Demilitarized Zone.

A US delegation was expected to retrieve the remains in the DPRK and fly them out on July 27th, either to Osan Air Base in the Republic of Korea or Hawaii, the official said, adding that the date may change as the two sides planned to iron out final details during another meeting in the near future.

July 27th also marks the 65th anniversary of the signing of the armistice, instead of a peace treaty, that ended the 1950 - 1953 war.

The lastest time the DPRK returned remains of fallen US soldiers was in April 2007, when then New Mexico governor Bill Richardson negotiated their dispatch in Pyongyang./.
