India marks 10th anniversary of 26/11 attack

A number of activities were held on November 26th to mark the 10th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attack that left 166 people dead and more 300 injured.

Solemn memorial services were held in the city for the victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the Mumbai terror attack.

“Tributes to those who lost their lives in the gruesome 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. Our solidarity with the bereaved families. A grateful nation bows to our brave police and security forces who valiantly fought the terrorists during the Mumbai attacks,” Modi tweeted.

Floral tributes were paid to those who laid down their lives while fighting Pakistani terrorists.

Mumbai’s police force remembered the more than a dozen officers who were killed, many while fighting the terrorists.

Residents were also to pay respects at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station where Mohammed Kasab, the only gunman caught alive, and another attacker, killed hundreds of people.

The Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel will hold a private service to remember the 31 people who died there.

On November 26th, 2008, Pakistani terrorists staged coordinated attacks in the heart of Mumbai. They targeted two luxury hotels, a Jewish center, a tourist restaurant and a crowded train station in three days of carnage./.
