RoK’s President Moon Jae-in and his US counterpart Donald Trump spoke by telephone for 35 minutes on May 7th to discuss ways to continue dialogue with DPRK in spite of its testing of weapons last week.

“The two heads of state exchanged opinions of the recently announced report on DPRK’s food situation from the World Food Program and the Food and Agriculture Organisation, in which President Trump said that the RoK providing the DPRK food supply is very well-timed, and expressed his support, calling it a positive measure,” President Moon’s office said after their call.

Presidents Trump and Moon also talked about a visit by Mr. Trump to the RoK "in the near future," the statement said, without giving details.

The talk between Mr. Trump and Mr. Moon came three days after the DPRK launched a number of short-range projectiles off its east coast, including rockets fired from multiple-launch tubes.

The projectiles had been fired from areas near the east coast town of Wonsan in Gangwon between 9:06 a.m. and 9:27 a.m.

This was the first time over the past year that the DPRK has tested projectiles./.
