"I'm pleased to report that President Trump has extended an official invitation to Prime Minister @AndrejBabis to visit Washington on March 7th as a symbol of our strong bilateral relationship. A White House announcement is forthcoming soon," Ambassador Stephen King wrote about the official invitation on February 20th on Twitter.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will welcome PM Andrej Babis and Mrs. Monika Babisova of the Czech Republic for their first official visit to the White House.

According to White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, the bilateral talks should focus on “how best to advance relations” between the two countries as well as issues including cybersecurity, energy security and trade. Czech Ambassador to the US Hynek Kmonicek said he expected pragmatic, open talks.

The invitation to the Czech PM coincided with a visit to Washington by Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek, who is meeting with his US counterpart Mike Pompeo./.
