Accordingly, teams representing World Taekwondo (WT), based in the RoK, and the DPRK-led International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) will also perform in three cities including Lausanne, Geneva and Vienna in April.

The events were proposed by WT President Chungwon Choue and agreed by ITF President Yong Son Ri at the end of last year.

“I am delighted that the ITF has agreed to join WT in celebrating the power of taekwondo to unite people around the world. The three, high-profile events in Switzerland and Austria will coincide with the anniversary of taekwondo’s inclusion on the Olympic program, which has helped spread the message of taekwondo around the world,” said WT President Chungwon Choue.

The two teams will also hold an exhibition of the sport at the United Nations offices in Geneva on April 12th, with the events being staged under the theme of "One World, One Taekwondo".

The ITF was established by the DPRK in 1986. It is a separate organization from the WT which was established by the RoK in 1973./.
