UN leader to discuss reform with US President Trump

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres travelled to Washington and meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on October 20th, a UN spokesman announced.

It will be the UN chief's first full formal meeting with Trump at the White House, after a brief encounter with the US President in April.

Mr. Antonio will discuss with the US President the issue of long awaited UN reforms and other bilateral issues as well. The UN chief is expected to discuss the US-Iran nuclear deal, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s tussle, and the expansion of the UN.

The United States is the biggest financial contributor to the United Nations, providing 22 percent of its USD5.4 billion core budget and 28 percent of its USD7.3 billion peacekeeping budget./.
