Addressing the press conference, Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert stressed “Leader Kim invited inspectors to visit the Punggye Ri village nuclear test site to confirm that it has been irrevocably dismantled.”

“Pompeo held productive discussions with Mr Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang on Sunday. They discussed the four elements contained in the US - DPRK Singapore Summit Joint Statement signed by President Trump and Chairman Kim", she added.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on October 7th travelled to Pyongyang to work out the details of a second US - DPRK summit.

During his visit, Pompeo made further progress on the implementation of the commitments from the US - DPRK summit in Singapore, including the final, fully verified denuclearization of DPRK.

The inspection issue is one of the main sticking points over a denuclearisation pledge agreed between the two leadersat their historic Singapore summit in June./.
