World Youth Forum opens in Egypt

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has opened the World Youth Forum (WYF) which is titled “We need to talk” on November 5th (local time) in Sharm El sheikh, Egypt.

The event attracted thousands of international delegations to participate and share stories of their success and grief.

Besides, the seven-day gathering also witness the participation of official youth representatives over 18 years of age, leaders of various youth networks, heads of state, media figures and around 250 young Egyptian expats.

The forum aims to create “a platform through which constructive dialogue between the government and future generations can take place”. To do so, the forum will be comprised of plenary sessions, seminars, and round tables that will "discuss a wide variety of international and regional themes of importance including: migration, refugees, democracy, globalization and cultural identity, technology and access to information".

The forum is a chance for the participants to engage with top policy-makers and network with promising youth from the region and the world who are determined to create real change affecting the world.

The idea of holding an international youth conference in Egypt was made during the third National Youth Conference in Ismailiya, and it was approved by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. In July, the President announced organizing the WYF in Sharm El-Sheikh during the fourth National Youth Conference in Alexandria./.
