RoK President appoints Ambassadors to US, China, Japan

President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Moon Jae-in has appointed ambassadors to the US, China and Japan, the presidential Blue House said on August 30th.

Accordingly, Mr. Noh Young-min, 60, a lawmaker, has been named ambassador for China, and foreign policy expert Lee Su-hoon, 63, who spent years as a researcher at Kyugnam University’s Institute for Far Eastern Studies, as ambassador to Japan.

Cho Yoon-je, 65, an honorary professor at Sogang University's Graduate School of International Studies, has been named as ambassador to the US.

"It will take a week or a couple of weeks before we receive agreements from the relevant countries," a presidential official said.

"The President will officially appoint the three when we receive the agreements"./.
