RoK President appoints new Prime Minister

On November 2nd, President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye appointed Mr. Kim Byong-joon, a professor at Kookmin University, as new Prime Minister, replacing Mr. Hwang Kyo Anu.

Mr. Kim Byong-joon previously served as chief policymaker of the Roh Moo-hyun administration.
Besides, Yim Jong-yong, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission was named the new Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. Yim, who will replace minister Yoo Il-ho, has been well regarded by policymakers and market participants in his current role.
In addition, President Parrk Geun-hye also nominated former Minister of Gender Equality and Family Park Seung-joo as the new Minister of Public Safety and Security./.
