An ASEAN week to celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishing dialogue between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea (RoK) kicked off in Seoul on June 14th.

The opening ceremony was attended by Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre Lee Hyuk, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, and ambassadors of ASEAN member nations and diplomats from other countries working in the RoK.
In her message sent to the event, Kim Chung-sook, First Lady of RoK President Moon Jae-in, highlighted the solidarity between people of the RoK and ASEAN nations through increasing cooperation and exchange activities.
In his opening speech, Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre Lee Hyuk expressed his hope that the event will be a “tour of ASEAN” to help RoK people understand more about food, fashion and culture of ASEAN countries.
The Thai Ambassador to the RoK said the week offers a chance to promote ASEAN’s values, contributing to strengthening the ASEAN - RoK partnership.
The three-day event includes art performance programmes, fashion shows, a talk show on tourism in Southeast Asia, and an exhibition featuring design products and ASEAN lifestyle./.
