13th National Party Congress convenes preparatory session

(CPV) – Delegates to the 13th National Party Congress on January 25 attended the preparatory session in which they adopted the program for the session, the working regulations, the Congress election regulations and the report on the eligibility verification on the delegates.

The session also elected the Congress Presidium, the Congress Secretariat and the Board of Eligibility Verification on the Delegates.

After the preparatory session, delegates worked in groups to study the Congress documents, including the Party Central Committee (PCC) term XII’s reports on the 13th National Party Congress documents, and the reports on reviewing the PCC term XII leadership.

The official opening session of the 13th National Party Congress will take place on January 26.

According to the Congress organizing committee, 1,587 delegates are attending the Congress, the largest number of delegates to a National Party Congress ever.

Guests at the congress include former Party and State leaders, ambassadors and foreign ambassadors and chief representatives of international organizations in Hanoi, representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, outstanding youths and intellectuals, and representatives from religious organizations.

With the motto “Unity – Democracy – Discipline – Creativeness – Development”, the 13th National Party Congress focuses on reviewing the implementation of the resolution of the 12th National Party Congress in association with assessing the 35-year renewal cause, 30 years implementing the 1991 Platform, 10 years implementing the 2011 Platform (amended) and the 2011-2020 socio-economic development strategy. The Congress will also define the socio-economic development orientations and tasks for 2021 - 2025, as well as the goals and orientations for 2030 and the national development vision to 2045 while reviewing Party building work and the leadership of the Party Central Committee term XII, and elect a new Party Central Committee for term XIII./.
