During a meeting of the Politburo and Party Central Committee Secretariat with the Standing Board of the city Party Congress on the preparations of the Party Congress on September 22, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that the preparations had ensured the requirements set in the Politburo directive and central documents.

The Prime Minister agreed with the city’s targets, orientations, tasks and solutions for the next 5 years, stressing that as the city is one of the developed economic and tourism centers, it should make exact forecast on development for working out prompt and suitable solutions to exploit and promote its potential and advantages, as well as limit disadvantageous impacts.
He suggested that the city Party Committee should continue to increase leadership and combativeness; develop capable leading cadres; better Party building and rectification; and increase administrative reform.
Da Nang city was also requested to strictly combine socio-economic development with reinforcing national defence and security, boosting sea economic development with ensuring national security, and sea and island sovereignty.
“The city needs to renew the model of and increase the quality of growth, labour productivity and competitiveness of the economy, focusing on building itself to become a high quality tourism destination; promoting night economic development; turning into a center of the sea economy, and looking to establish a logistics service supply chain in the central region under the role of a gateway for transporting in ASEAN and at the international level,” he said.
Additionally, the city is responsible for promoting the strong development of innovation and start-up for the establishment of the national innovation and start-up center under a resolution of the Politburo; increasing information technology, electronics and telecommunications in connection with the digital economy; and enhancing hi-tech agricultural production.
Agreeing with the draft documents and personnel plans to be submitted to the city’s Party Congress, the Prime Minister asked the city Party Committee to receive ideas from Politburo members and representatives from central agencies for completing the draft documents and for a successful Party Congress./.
