Khanh Hoa urged to become major center of sea economy, tourism and services

The central province of Khanh Hoa should review the implementation of the Politburo’s conclusion on developing the province until 2020 and a vision to 2030, in which it is targeted to become a major center of economy-tourism, science and technology, and human resources training to serve sea and tourism economic development, as well as caring for people’s health.

The proposal was made by Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Politburo member and Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA), when she attended the 18th provincial Party Congress term 2020-2025 on October 13.
According to the NA Chairwoman, to obtain the target, the province had to accelerate the building of provincial planning suiting the regional and national planning for development which identify Khanh Hoa province’s role and position in the Central – Central Highlands regional links and the East-West economic corridor. “The province should focus on developing hi-tech industry and tourism, and sea economy, together with increasing development in key economic zones and effectively carrying out socio-economic programs,” she said.
Noting that Khanh Hoa is situated in a very important and strategic location in terms of defence and security, she urged the province to strictly combine socio-economic development with reinforcement of defence and security, in order to create stable environment for comprehensive development.
Speaking at the Congress, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Party Central Committee member and Secretary of the provincial Party Congress in the 2016-2020 period, said the province reported an economic growth rate of 6.1% on average, and GRDP per capita in 2020 of VND73.31 million.
On October 14, the Congress re-elected Nguyen Khac Dinh as Secretary of the provincial Party Committee term 2020-2025./.
