NA Chairwoman attends 5th Thai Nguyen Patriotism Emulation Congress

National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on September 29 attended the 5th Thai Nguyen Provincial Patriotism Emulation Congress for the 2020 – 2025 period.

Speaking at the event, the Chairwoman praised the outcomes of the patriotism emulation movement in the province, saying they have contributed significantly to local socio-economic development over the past five years.

She stressed that in the coming time, Thai Nguyen province should continue holding movements in line with political missions, as well as Politburo Directive 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and following the thoughts, morality, and lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh.

The top legislator requested provincial leaders to pay due attention to improving the efficiency of the emulation and rewards council, saying that council staff should have a thorough understanding of Party policies and State regulations, as well as a high sense of responsibility.

Over the past five years, Thai Nguyen’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) has increased dramatically, averaging 11.1 percent. The province has also gained outstanding results in the building of new style rural areas, with 72 percent of communes attaining the title, 21,500 jobs generated, and poverty cut by an average 2.06 percent each year.

At the event, The NA chairwoman presented the President’s Labor Orders to 19 collectives and individuals for their contributions to the cause of national construction and protection; Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai presented the government’s emulation flags to 14 collectives and the Prime Minister’s certificates of merit to nine collectives and individuals./.
