So said Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung while attending a meeting held on January 5 in Vinh Phuc province to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the first NA general election (January 6, 1946).

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung emphasized that the first NA general election marked the growth of Vietnam's revolutionary State, opening a new era of the country that has a NA, the unified, legal and only Government that represents the Vietnamese people internally and externally; a State of the people, by the people and for the people. “Over the past 14 terms, the NA has been increasingly perfected and has truly become the highest representative body of the people, the highest body of State power,” he added.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, from a poor province, Vinh Phuc has risen strongly, becoming a bright spot, a model, a leading developed province in the country that attracts investment and reports strong socio-economic development. “These achievements mark the great contributions of NA deputies,” he added.

In the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister asked Vinh Phuc to focus on synchronously improving infrastructure, boosting economic development to become a modern province, attracting diverse resources for industrial development, developing high quality and high value agricultural products, and promoting tourism potential.

He also urged the province to increase the quality of education and training; promote traditional cultural values; ensure national defense and security; and improve Party and authority building./.
