Thai Nguyen celebrates 75th anniversary of NA’s first general election

A ceremony was held in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on December 26 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the first general election of the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 – 2021).

The event saw the attendance of former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; and Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh; among others.

At the meeting, the NA deputies’ delegation of Thai NguyenProvince reviewed their operation during the 2016-2021 tenure.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of Thai Nguyen provincial Party Committee and Head of the NA deputies’ delegation of the province Nguyen Thanh Hai recalled the historical milestone ofthe first general election of the Vietnam NA with the most progressive and democratic principles.

The success of the first general election showed the wise and ingenious leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as well as affirming the power of great national unity and the patriotism and political consciousness of the Vietnamese people following the early days of the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, she added.

The secretary also noted that the NA deputies’ delegation fromThai Nguyen Province has made important contributions to thesocio-economic development of the locality in particular and the country in general.

In particular, during the 2016-2021 tenure, the delegation has innovated its operating methods to fulfil all assigned tasks, she said.

On the occasion, Thai Nguyen provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to one collective and nine individuals who gained outstanding achievements to contribute to the NA deputies’ delegation over the past tenure.
