So judged Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam at the December 29 meeting to carry out the resolution of the 14th National Assembly on the socio-economic development plan for the year 2021.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam suggested that it is necessary to promote dissemination of information so that families with relatives abroad do not allow their relatives to enter the country illegally, thus causing harm to the community.

“The most important solution is to carry out preventive measures in medical facilities, schools and accommodation establishments,” he said.

According to Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, in addition to the results of the prevention of COVID-19, in 2020, the health sector is considered to be a bright spot of the national digital transformation program, with the promotion of the application of information technology, and application of digital achievements in medicine, thus taking advantage of the 4th industrial revolution, creating a strong transformation of the sector.

He noted that in COVID-19 prevention, applications for medical declaration, traceability and COVID-19 safety maps had been widely applied. “It is expected that in early March 2021, the electronic control program of the communal health station will be launched, with over 10,600 medical stations and especially 98 million personal health records having created over the past 5 months, proceeding to register online medical examination and treatment, paperless outpatient treatment, helping people check their health status and build a smart medical system.

“The health sector is turning risks into opportunities, starting to step into a path of strong comprehensive reform to better serve the people by remarkably renovating the quality of medical examination and treatment; continuing to align the health system effectively; forming hi-tech pharmaceutical industrial parks; and attracting investment in domestic medical equipment production,” Minister Long went on to say.

Attending the meeting, Minister of Public Security, General To Lam said that with the complex development of the pandemic, the country needed to focus on well managing immigration. “Currently, 70,000 overseas Vietnamese have returned home and according to calculations, hundreds of thousands of people have the need to return home, with many entering the country illegally,” he added. “Therefore, it is necessary to both welcome overseas Vietnamese home and ensure social security and safety.”
