Specifically, the product has been granted a geographical indication registration certificate 00082 by the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, under Decision 2653/QD-SHTT.

The Luong Tai People’s Committee is responsible for managing the geographical indication.

Mr. Dinh Huu Phi, Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, said that, aiming to help An Thinh garlic develop sustainably, Luong Tai district should focus on solutions such as building and organizing the implementation of management regulations; and ensure traceability and quality as prescribed by geographical indications. 

He said that it is necessary to have the participation of the whole political system of Bac Ninh and farmers to help An Thinh garlic be sold in the market, as well as ensure its reputation. 

Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, asked Luong Tai to intensify promotion and close management of the production process and traceability in order to improve the quality of An Thinh garlic and avoid being appropriated or faked. 

In addition, the district should focus on developing production and expanding consumption markets for An Thinh garlic in order to increase the income of local people, and review the planning for developing and expanding production areas in association with developing eco-tourism./.
