Vietnamese historical comic book wins int’l award

(CPV) - The first episode of the Vietnamese historical comic book written by authors Thanh Phong and Khanh Duong titled “Truyen thuyet Long Than Tuong” (Legend of Marshal Long) has won the Silver Prize of at the 9th International MANGA Award.

Long Than Tuong, a historical story with some fictional details, is about a young man named Long (Dragon) who lived during the reign of the Tran dynasty (1225-1400), a time when the country faced a second Mongolian invasion. This period saw one of the most heroic chapters in the nation's history.

The International MANGA Award was founded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in 2007 for the purpose of promoting international exchange and mutual understanding through the MANGA culture.

As planned, Nguyen Thanh Phong, a group member, will be in the East Asian country from February 23rd to March 3rd to receive the award./.
