Numerous festivals and cultural activities attrract tourists on occassion of Tet

(CPV) A variety of festival and cultural activities will be held in many provinces and cities nationwide on the occasion of Tet.

In Hanoi, fireworks will light up the skies over 30 locations in all 30 districts and towns of Hanoi during the upcoming Lunar New Year ( Tet ) festival, Vietnam’s largest national holiday.

The 15-minute firework shows will start from 0:00 on January 22 (Lunar New Year’s Eve).

The firework shows will be funded by businesses and organisations.

After 3 years of not organizing fireworks on New Year's Eve, firework displays will be held in 30 districts, towns to welcome the new year.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Firework displays will be held at six locations in Ho Chi Minh City on the Eve of the Lunar New Year, starting on midnight on January 21. The 15-minute shows will be funded by businesses and organizations.

A high-altitude fireworks display will be held at the Thu Thiem Tunnel in Thu Duc city and five low-altitude displays will be set off in the Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11, Thu Duc city, Can Thanh commune in Can Gio district, Cu Chi and Binh Chanh districts.

For the Lunar New Year holiday, HCM City has planned a variety of cultural and arts activities including a photo exhibition on the beauty of HCM City’s daily life as well as photos of war memories; a Tet Cake Festival to be held at the History Ethnic and Cultural Park; and the annual HCM City Spring Flower Fair to be held from January 16-27 at Tao Dan Park.

In the central province of Binh Dinh, there will be many festivals and attractive tourism stimulation activities from January 7 to February 21, 2023, to welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet).

The Cau Ngu (whale worship) Festival, is one of the famous festivals of Binh Dinh Province.

Accordingly, 8 cultural and art activities will be organised at the provincial scale, while three festivals and more than 35 cultural and sports activities will be held by districts, towns and cities in the province.

Specifically, Binh Dinh will organise festivals such as the first An Nhon Golden Apricot Festival 2023, inaugurating the mascot of the year of the Cat 2023, decorating the campus of the Nguyen Tat Thanh - Nguyen Sinh Sac monument and a photo exhibition on socio-economic achievements of Binh Dinh province in 2022, a traditional Tet cake making contest and a contest on building the traditional Tet celebration, among others.

According to the Director of Binh Dinh Provincial Department of Tourism Tran Van Thanh, the province has implemented several tourism stimulus programmes and also approved investment for more than 67 tourism projects throughout the province.

Huong Pagoda Festival is to be launched in late January.

The Huong Pagoda Festival, the longest of its kind in Vietnam, will take place in three months, from January 23 to April 23, or from the 2nd of the first lunar month to the 4th of the third lunar month in Huong Son Commune, My Duc District in suburban Hanoi.

The opening ceremony of the festival is scheduled for January 27.

One of the festival’s highlights is that the organizer will switch to selling electronic entrance tickets from traditional ones. Besides, the organizer will rearrange ticket counters and ticket-selling methods appropriately. Also, a pilot e-vehicle service will be offered to pilgrims to admire the scenic beauty of Huong Son Commune.

A My Duc District government representative said more positive changes need to be made during this year’s event to satisfy the sightseeing demand of pilgrims to this religious destination, adding that the organizer has to take measures to promote safety, politeness, and hospitality during the festival./.
