Over 2,000 people to join in “Xoe Thai Art” Honoring Ceremony

Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La and other provinces in the tourism cooperation and development programme of eight North West provinces and Ho Chi Minh city will participate in the ceremony to receive the certificate of UNESCO inscribed "Art of Xoe Thai" as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The ceremony aims to honor and promote the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; affirms rich cultural identity of the Vietnamese ethnic community in general and the Thai ethnic group in Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Yen Bai provinces in particular; introduce and promote tangible and intangible cultural values and unique tourism products of Yen Bai province to attract domestic and international tourists, contributing to promoting economic – social development in the following years.

The ceremony will be hold to aims to introduce to abroad tourists about Yen Bai people, especial value of history and culture of Muong Lo area’s people and Mong people’s culture and the Special National Relic Mu Cang Chai Field Rice Terraces…

In the frame of ceremony, diverse special activities with the participation of Yen Bai province, Dien Bien, Lai Chau such as: Street show; displaying the artistic heritage of Xoe Thai in Vietnam; beatiful pictures of Northwest provinces; displaying OCOP products, Luc Yen gem and performing ethnic cultures.

From September from December, a series of activities such as Nghia Lo town bicycle race; Paragliding Festival “Flying over the golden season” in Mu Cang Chai district; exploring the special national scenic spot Mu Cang Chai terraced fields by helicopter; Cereal pounding festival; Ceremony to honor Suoi Giang Tea tree, will be held./.
