Preserving and promoting cultural values of ethnic minorities is a core value

According to Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, throughout the country's leadership career, our Party has always had policies on preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic minorities. Documents of the 8^th, 9^th and 11^th National Party Congresses on building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity are an important basis for policy orientations to preserve and promote values of ethnic minority culture over the past period.

On the basis of policies and guidelines of the Party and State and resolutions of the National Assembly, functional agencies have concretized into a system of cultural policies in general and policies on preserving and promoting the cultural values of the ethnic minorities in particular, in order to create changes and exploit cultural resources in a sustainable way (for example, in 2011, the Prime Minister issued Decision 1270/QD-TTg dated July 27, 2011 on ratification of the project on Conservation and Development of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Minorities up to 2020"; The Strategy for Cultural Development to 2030 issued under the Prime Minister's Decision 1909/QD-TTg, dated November 12, 2021 of the Prime Minister.)

In particular, in the "National target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2030", many objectives, contents and resources of the Program have been identified and integrated with the policy of preserving and promoting ethnic cultural values. Many goals and contents on preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic minorities have also been integrated by policy-making agencies into the overall goals and targets of the Program.

"It can be affirmed, preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic minorities have always been paid special attention by the Party and State. Thereby, it has contributed to the revival, restoration and promotion of the cultural values of the communities. Effectiveness in preserving and promoting cultural values has created an important effect in socio-economic development, forming thoughts, feelings and spirits in the spiritual life of ethnic minorities and contribute to the common development of the locality, region and country," said the Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council./.
