Providing free tickets to visitors to UNESCO ceremony honouring art of Xoe Thai

According to the Organizing Committee of the UNESCO ceremony honouring art of Xoe Thai as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, free tickets are only available on request due to the number of people interested in attending an event.

Tickets for the ceremony are available by contacting the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism at No 587 Yen Ninh street in Yen Bai city (Tel. 094-546-562) or the People's Committee of Nghia Lo town in Tan An ward, Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai province (Tel. 0917-333-162).

The ceremony will take place at the stadium of Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai province at 8pm on September 24 and tickets to the event are being distributed free of charge, said Vice Chairwoman of Yen Bai provincial People’s Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh.

The celebration will feature the art programme 'Xoe Thai - the quintessence of the heritage region,' which will involve more than 3,000 artists, performers, and artisans using the entire stadium as a venue.

Xoe Dancing is an unique cultural activity, a popular dance in Thai people’s communy in the northwest. Xoe dance is also called “Xe khăm khen”. Xoe dance expresses consolidation so every Thai people know this dance and love it.

Xoe dance is the symbol of love of Thai people, the love of working. They consider xoe dance as a part of their lives, like food and water they eat and dring everyday.

The graceful dance moves in harmony with music, songs, costumes, the sound from the silver jewelry worn around the waist of Thai women create a unique art form in the Northwest region.

The Xoe dance has a sustainable vitality and is transmitted by the community through generations./.
