Valuable books by Vietnamese Party leader presented to French cultural workers

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung presented valuable books written by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the Vietnam Cultural Center in France on the afternoon of July 25 (local time), according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Upon addressing the event, Minister Hung underscored the importance of the legacy left by the late Party leader, especially cultural legacies to the cause of building and developing the national culture.

The publications by General Secretary Trong are on building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identities and touching upon theory and practice of socialism in Vietnam.

Minister Hung emphasised that these books demonstrate the deep concern shown by General Secretary Trong for the cultural sector, noting that they can be considered as important handbooks for those working in the cultural field,  thereby further developing an advanced Vietnamese culture deeply imbued with national identities.

As part of the occasion, Minister Hung also presented a Vietnamese-English bilingual book "A thousand years of Vietnamese national culture" which aims to introduce national treasures along with images to help readers gain greater insights into the origin, characteristics, as well as the unique and typical values of each treasure.

The Minister went on to express his hope that, through the valuable books, the Vietnam Cultural Center in France will introduce precious heritage aspects of the nation to international friends with the ultimate aim of elevating the image and people of Vietnam. It is also a vivid expression to commemorate the departed Party leader, he added.

For his part, Meritorious Artist Tang Thanh Son, deputy director in charge of the Vietnam Cultural Center in France, was moved by receiving the precious books, affirming that all officers and employees of the centre will absorb valuable knowledge from the books, and contribute to spreading the nation’s cultural identity to international friends moving forward./.
