Book set on Vietnam's sea and island culture

The Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies has coordinated with the National Political Publishing House to make public a set of books on Vietnam's sea and island culture, including nine volumes.

The books were edited by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chi Ben, former Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies.

This is the result of a ministerial-level scientific research program on protecting and promoting the cultural values of Vietnam's sea and islands in 2015-2016 years.

The first and the last volumes provide readers with an overview of Vietnam’s sea and island culture, the issue of management of Vietnam’s sea and island culture. The rest give deep study about Vietnam’s sea and islands.

The management of sea and island culture is the implementation of policies to protect and promote the value of sea and island culture. The book primarily deals with the theoretical issues of the management of sea and island culture, experience in managing sea and islands of some countries in the world, and of feudal dynasties and historical communities in Vietnam.

In addition, the authors analyze the management of sea and island culture in Vietnam through the impact of cultural management on the traditional cultural value system and the impacts of economy, politics, society for the management of sea and island culture.

It can be affirmed that the book set is a comprehensive and enthusiastic research project of experts, scientists, and systematize issues related to sea and island culture across the country; proposes solutions in management and development of sea and island culture, contributing practically to national sovereignty protection, as well as development of sea and economy and culture.

The books are useful references for researchers, scientists, graduate students, students and a large number of readers who want to learn about Vietnamese sea and island culture./.
