The 5th Cham Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival in Phu Yen in 2019 will take place in the southern province of Phu Yen from August 13th to 16th to popularize culture values and promote tourism of Cham ethnic group to Vietnamese and international friends.

The festival is expected to participation of 2,000 artisans, actors and musicians from 11 provinces and cities in southern and south central Vietnam.
At the press briefing held on August 1st, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the opening ceremony will take place at 20h00 on August 14th and the closing ceremony will be organized at 20h00 on August 16th. The two ceremonies will be broadcast live on the Radio the voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television and Phu Yen provincial Television and Radio.
Diverse activities such as artistic performances, show of traditional clothes, exhibition on socio-economic development achievements in Cham-ethnic inhabited areas, performances of traditional foods, sports activities, seminars on tours to Phu Yen and south central Vietnam will be held.
According to researchers, there are some 180,000 Cham people in 35 districts of cities and provinces in the south central and southern regions. They mainly live in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan in the south central region and the southern province of An Giang./.
