Exhibition honours Vietnamese women

On the occasion of the 91st founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2021), the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Management Board have organized an exhibition to honour Vietnamese heroic mothers.

Accordingly, nine female patriotic revolutionary soldiers during the resistance wars of Vietnam are introduced. They include Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, the first female Secretary of the Saigon Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Quang Thai, sister of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and the first wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap; legendary heroine Vo Thi Sau; Le Thi Rieng; female general Nguyen Thi Dinh; young female political prisoner Vo Thi Thang; female soldier Tran Thi Ly; and former Vice Presidents Nguyen Thi Binh and Truong My Hoa.

The exhibits also focus on highlighting the images of women who took care of their families while promoting production activities towards giving assistance to the southern front.

In addition, women’s efforts in overcoming gender stereotype-based barriers to affirm their position and roles in the new era are also reflected at the exhibition.

The display spaces feature two main colours of gray and red. The event will last until May 2021./.
