Hanoi through the lens of German photographer

More than 130 black and white and colour photos on Hanoi from 1967 to 1975 take by Thomas Billhardt are on display at a special photo exhibition at Manzi Exhibition Space and Manzi Art Space at 14 PHan Huy Ich street, Hanoi.

These photos taken during photographer Thomas Billhardt’s six trips to Vietnam from 1967-1975, bringing viewers back to true memories of Ha's life and people in about half a century ago. The impressive moments are the joy of welcoming a baby born in war time, bomb shelters on the street, children playing on the street, simple activities of Hanoi people and the train in Hanoi.

Billhardt is one of the most special photographers of the German Democratic Republic. His photographs of the Vietnam War in the late 1960s earned him international fame. His photos tell viewers about social injustice, poverty, suffering, war, but also describe the daily lives of people.

The photographer will have a talk to the audience in mid-October. Movie screening and book release "Hanoi 1967-1975" by Thomas Billhardt  will also be held at this time.

The exhibition will run until the end of November 15, 2020.
