Maps and documents on Hoang Sa, Truong Sa archipelagos in Long An

Maps, documents and publications on the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos are on display at an exhibition titled "Vietnam's Hoang Sa and Truong Sa - Historical evidence" which has opened in Kien Tuong town, the southern province of Long An.

Representatives from the High Command of Navy Region 2, Long An provincial Departments, committees and agencies, armed forces, students and local people participated in the opening ceremony.

The exhibition is part of a series of communication programmes aimed at the masses to introduce the historical evidence of Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Hoang Van Lien, vice head of Long An provincial People’s Committee, said that the event aimed to improve awareness, solidarity and responsibility in affirming and protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos.

It was also an opportunity to raise justice in public opinion and clarify the international public law, contributing to building legal documents on Vietnam’s sovereignty.

The exhibition will run until December 24th./.
