Mid-Autumn Festival at Thang Long Imperial Citadel

The program introduces the beauty of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, in which the Organizing Committee coordinates with artists to restore and display many traditional lamps from the early 20th century.

Prominent among them are the lamp samples restored by researcher Trinh Bach and artisans such as carp lamps and crab lamps. These lamps were sampled by researcher Trinh Bach at museums in France.

In addition, the image of the traditional Mid-Autumn tray with fruits and seeds made of powder by the two artists Pham Thi Nguyet Anh and Dang Van Hau was also introduced to the public.

Historian Le Van Lan will join a discussion on the Mid-Autumn festival, and a lantern festival held to mark the event during the Le-Trinh Dynasty in the early 17th century.

A traditional occasion for children, the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, with people often preparing trays with mooncakes, candy and fruit.
