200 maps and documents affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Archipelagos are on display at an exhibition entitled “Vietnam’s Hoang Sa, Truong Sa – Historical Evidence” which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on August 22nd.

Visitors can examine copies of classical Chinese, Vietnamese, and French language documents issued by Vietnamese feudal states from the 17th to early 20th centuries, as well as four Chinese atlases published from 1908 to 1933.

The exhibition is considered an important contribution to promoting the historical and legal evidence proving Vietnam’s indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Archipelagos.

The event is the continuation of the two successful exhibitions in the central province of Ha Tinh in June 2013 on the occasion of Vietnam’s sea and island week and in Hanoi in July 2013, which drew the participation of more than 10,000 visitors.

The exhibition will run until August 29th./.
