Two typical cultural heritages to seek for UNESCO recognition

The Prime Minister has agreed on the development of dossiers for Cheo singing arts of the Red River Delta as well as Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts to seek recognition as cultural heritages of the world.

On October 20, the Government Office issued Document 7611/VPCP-KGVX, conveying the opinions of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on the creation of dossiers for typical intangible cultural heritages to submit to UNESCO.

Specifically, the Deputy PM is allowing the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to host and coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to create dossiers for Cheo arts of the Red River Delta and Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts.

Binh Dinh traditional martial arts was recognised as a National Intangible Heritage in 2012.

Cheo singing has been recognised as precious heritage capital and classified as a traditional artform in need of preservation and promotion./.
