Vietnam - Japan Cultural Festival in HCM city

The Vietnam - Japan Cultural Festival in Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC) was an opportunity for local people, especially the youth of the two countries, to meet, exchange culture and participate in traditional performing arts activities of Vietnam and Japan.

The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in HCMC, Ao Dai Museum, and Vietmark company.

Diverse activities such as tea ceremony, Haiku poetry, origami, and martial arts, “Ao dai” fashion show, calligraphy painting and “chau van” singing were held.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of HCMC Nguyen Cong Tanh emphasised that culture is an effective bridge to unite the nations and peoples of the world.

The regular organisation and diversification of such activities helps promote the friendship between the two countries, in general, and between Ho Chi Minh city and the provinces and cities in Japan, in particular.

While Japanese Consul General in HCMC Kawaue Junichi spoke highly of the association’s efforts in organizing the cultural festival and expected the event will continue next year./.
