Vietnamese literature 65 years - a journey

On May 24, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Writers’ Association held a meeting with outstanding writers on the occasion of the association’s 65th founding anniversary (1957-2022).

Vietnam Writers Association was established on April 4, 1957, with 278 members for the first time (including 25 founding members). Over the past 65 years, as a socio-political professional organization, the Vietnam Writers' Association has promoted the tradition of the Resistance Arts Association, accompanies with the nation and the Party, making a practical contribution to the national development.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Association Nguyen Quang Thieu reviewed the 65-year journey since the association's establishment and development.

Many of them laid down their lives during wartime for the country’s struggle for national independence and freedom, he stated.

In today’s modern life, Vietnamese writers have promoted their works to international friends and won propitious prizes abroad, thus contributing to advertising the land and people of Vietnam to the world.

Delegates at the event discussed ways to encourage writers to produce more high-quality works and facilitate the association’s stronger development./.
