Asia media praise Vietnamese football’s historic win, Hoi An to welcome first international tourists of 2020 at Tra Que vegetable village, National Tourism Year 2020 to be launched in Ninh Binh are hot news of December 11th.

According to Vietnam News Agency, media in Asia have given words of praises to coach Park Hang-seo and his Vietnam U22s disciples after they defeated Indonesia 3-0 to become the champion of the 30th SEA Games men’s football in the Philippines on December 10th.

The Straits Times of Singapore highlighted the sixth time lucky for Vietnam as they finally win men's football gold medal.

After losing five SEA Games football finals - 1995, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2009 - Vietnam finally ended that unwanted record with a 3-0 win over Indonesia at Manila's Rizal Memorial Stadium on December 10, the paper said.

The goals were scored by Doan Van Hau and Do Hung Dung.

Besides, Vietnamese female footballers won their sixth gold medal in the regional biggest regional sports event, including this year with a 1-0 win over Thailand on December 8th.

Meanwhile, China’s Xinhua news agency reported the win of Vietnam U22s over Indonesia, saying that both teams had already played each other once in the group stage with the Vietnamese making a come-back win at last minutes 2-1.

“However, the Golden Star Warriors gave the opponents no chance to take the lead this time” with the goal opened by Doan Van Hau in the 40th minute, Xinhua said.

The Vietnamese side doubled its lead as captain Do Hung Dung fired a shot inside the penalty area in 59th minutes, and 14 minutes later, from Nguyen Hoang Duc’s free-kick flapped away by Indonesian keeper, Doan Van Hau tapped the ball in the net to score his second and make a 3-0 lead for Vietnam.

Fox Sports Asia’s website highlighted Vietnam’s win against Indonesia.

In the Republic of Korea, Sport Seoul newspaper posted an article on Vietnam U22s’ victory, hailing the team’s development with assistance from coach Park Hang-seo.

SBS TV ran video clips of the gold medal match between Vietnam and Indonesia.

Besides, other words like “Vietnam football final”, “Sport TV” or “Park Hang-seo” were among top 10 key words searched at that time.

Hoi An to welcome first international tourists of 2020 at Tra Que vegetable village

Hoi An city in the central coastal province of Quang Nam will greet the first international tourist delegation of 2020 on January 1st, at the Tra Que vegetable village.

The move is expected to contribute to promoting the brand of traditional villages of Hoi An, as well as express the hospitality of the people of the city to tourists.

On December 9th, the Centre for Culture, Sports, Radio & Television of Hoi An said from December 24th, 2019, to January 1st, 2020, the city will organize a Gala Dinner program to welcome the New Year with many special activities.

Accordingly, from the night of December 24th, Nguyen Phuc Chu street and An Hoi statue garden will become more splendid with decorative clusters and unique displays.

Notably, from the night of December 28th, a cuisine market will be arranged at An Hoi Statue Garden by the Quang Nam Tourism Association in coordination with local restaurants and businesses in order to introduce experiences of the culinary culture of Hoi An to visitors.

In addition, there are art exchange activities at the main stage such as: a meeting with Hoi An bands, “Spring Dance” and Hoi An art talent contest.

From 21h30 on December 31st; an art program to welcome the New Year will take place with many activities: art performances, lucky lottery and award ceremony for contests in the year.

National Tourism Year 2020 to be launched in Ninh Binh

According to Vietnam News Agency, the National Tourism Year 2020 will be launched in the northern province of Ninh Binh on February 20, 2020, heard a press conference in Hanoi on December 10th.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for December 2020.

According to the organising board, the year will take the theme “Hoa Lu - ancient capital of a thousand years” with 27 activities, including Bai Dinh pagoda festival that will open on January 30th, Hoa Lu festival from April 1st-3rd, and Trang An festival from April 10th to the late May 2020.

The Miss Capital ASEAN 2020 final round, the “Yellow Tam Coc - Trang An” tourism week, an international workshop on “xam” singing, a music exchange between provinces having world heritages and twinning localities at home and abroad, the second Trang An marathon tournament, and Ninh Binh trade and tourism fair are also planned for.

Other activities include Dau temple festival, Duc Thanh Nguyen temple festival, Thai Vi temple festival, display of Ninh Binh antiques, the Hoa Lu Volleyball Cup 2020, a photo competition themed “Ninh Binh land and people”, an international symposium on the preservation of world cultural and natural heritage values in combination with sustainable tourism development, among others.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will also organise 11 activities while 24 cities and provinces hold 79 events in response to the year.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Quang Ngoc said the year will help popularize values of local tangible and intangible heritages to the public, thus contributing to local socio-economic development./.
