Vietnam earns 1.54 billion USD from rubber exports in 7 months

Vietnam exported nearly 919,000 tonnes of rubber, earning 1.54 billion USD in the first seven months of 2021 with the price of 1,677 USD per tonne, up 34.2 percent, 74.5 percent and 30 percent respectively, reported Vietnam News Agency according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

In July alone, rubber exports enjoyed increases of 25.3 percent in volume and 22.8 percent in turnover, but experienced a decrease of 2 percent in price compared to the previous month. Compared to those in July 2020, the export of Vietnamese rubber saw growth in all three aspects, with 1 percent, 38 percent ad 35.7 percent, respectively.

China is Vietnam’s biggest rubber importer, with over 643,000 tonnes worth 1.04 billion USD, equivalent to 70 percent of the total volume and 67.4 percent of the total turnover. The figures represented year-on-year rises of 26.4 percent in volume and 62.7 percent in value.

It is followed by the EU with nearly 50,000 tonnes and 89.8 million USD, and India with over 47,000 tonnes and 85.5 million USD.

Contests of Army Games 2021 kicks off in Vietnam

The Military Medical Relay Race and Sniper Frontier contests of the International Army Games 2021 started at National Military Training Centre No 4 in Hanoi on August 31, reported Vietnam News Agency.

Lt. Gen Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and head of the contest organising board, said this is the first time Vietnam has hosted competitions of the Army Games, which once again affirms the sound cooperation among the militaries of Vietnam, Russia, and other countries.

The contests in Vietnam, slated for August 31 to September 3, sees the participation of Bangladesh, Belarus, Laos, Mali, Russia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and the host country.

The Army Games 2021, organised by Russia's Defence Ministry, is scheduled for August 22 - September 4 with 34 contests and 260 teams from 45 countries. Competition events are held in 11 countries.

In Algeria, the “True Friend” contest of the Games wrapped up on August 30.

The teams from Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and host Algeria competed in the individual dog race, the 300m obstacle course with dogs, the dog relay race, the AK rifle team shooting, and the guard duty.

Among the three teams in the women’s category, Uzbekistan ranked first, followed by Russia and Algeria.

In the men’s category, Uzbekistan and Russia also respectively secured the first and second places. Belarus, Algeria, and Vietnam stood at the following positions.

Lt. Col. Hoang Ngoc Sang, head of the Vietnamese team in Algeria, said having not gained high results, the team still made a great stride at this contest and outperformed itself compared to the 2020 Games and its training results.

On August 28, Vietnam secured the second place among the five teams in the AK rifle team shooting event of the “True Friend” competition. Sub-lieutenant Trieu The Bo also ranked second in the AK rifle individual shooting.

This is also the fourth time Vietnam has taken part in the games, competing in the largest number of contests so far.

Vietnamese resort named among most breathtaking eco-resorts to visit in 2021

Euronews wrote that, based on the assessment of model Danielle Copperman, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay Resort has been selected for the list.

In her own words, the hotel is an 'isolated eco-paradise', featuring on-going conservation projects and growing fresh produce on site. Danielle explored the plantations and sampled the local fruit on offer, from lemongrass, mango and papaya to pomelo, kumkwat and dragon fruit, according to Euronews.

Coming the Six Senses Ninh Van Bay in Khanh Hoa, visitors will have the opportunity to experience scuba diving and jungle adventures, with an equal emphasis on wellness and relaxation - think soothing spa treatments and flying yoga.

Along with Six Sense Ninh Van Bay, Euronews also selected a number of other famous eco-resorts in the world associated with nature conservation activities.

The other resorts include: Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte (Brazil); Zadun, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve (Mexico); Terre Blanche (Provence, France); Dharana at Shillim Estate Retreat and Spa (India); Villa Persa, White Key Villas (Island of Spetses, Greece); Château d’Audrieu (Normandie, France); La Granja Ibiza (Spain); Stonefield Villas (Soufriere, Saint Lucia); The Amaala Project (Saudi Arabia); and Cottages Antoinette (Champagne, France).

The resorts have common characteristics in making the most of the available natural space, limiting the impact on the environment, implementing nature conservation projects, and educating the community and visitors about the natural environment./.
