Vietnam sees more kinds of fruit exported to China

(CPV) - Currently, Vietnam sees 9 kinds of fresh fruits allowed to be imported through official channel into the Chinese markets, including dragon fruit, watermelon, litchi, longan, banana, mango, jackfruit, rambutan, and mangosteen.

An international conference has been held to exchange information on market regulations and control imports and exports of fruits and vegetables between Vietnam and China.

The event was co-organized by the Agriculture Processing and Market Development Authority (AgroTrade), the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association and the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh city

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 9 months of 2020, Vietnam – China export and import turnover of agricultural products reached more than 9.8 billion USD, down 8.6% from the same period last year. Most of Vietnamese products shipped to China decreased, especially vegetables and fruits shipment saw 25.9% reduction, reaching at USD 1.4 billion.

Together with completing procedures for durian, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development continues to boosting the process of opening markets for the following fruits: grapefruit, passion fruit, avocado, custard apple, coconut, cardamom and pineapple. At the same time, it will sign a Protocol to open the market for black jelly and sweet potato.

For the situation of issuing codes to the Chinese market, 47 provinces have sent a written request with 1,735 codes of planting area, covering more than 180,000 ha for the 9 fresh fruits, including 628 codes for the Mekong delta.

Hanoi prepares goods for Tet 2021

The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade has just issued Plan No. 4497/KH-SCT to prepare for the New Year and Lunar New Year (Tet) 2021.

The plan aims to enhance the implementation of solutions of managing and balancing supply and demand, and stabilizing the market of essential goods in association with the campaign of Vietnamese people giving priority to using Vietnamese goods.

According to the department, total value of goods for Tet 2021 is estimated at VND39.4 trillion, an increase of about 5% compared to last Tet.

At the end of 2020 and during the Tet holiday 2021, commercial business activities will be busy and shopping demand will increase by 3-20% in each commodity group.

Specifically, food demand for three months before, during and after Tet will include about 292,500 tons of rice, 56,700 tons of pork, 18,900 tons of chicken, 18,459 tons of beef, 369 millions eggs, 315,000 tons of vegetable, 15,570 tons of seafood, 18,114 tons of processed food and 156,000 tons of fruits.

The department also asked domestic enterprises to be ready to prepare enough supply sources for commodity groups with increasing demand on the holiday such as dried agricultural products, up 25-30%; petrol and oil, up 20%; and flowers and ornamental plants, up 25-30%

Additionally, in order to bring Tet goods to people in suburban districts, mountainous communes and industrial zones during the upcoming Tet, the organ will organize 12 fairs and 300 mobile stores to serve workers.

Retail businesses will sell Tet goods at 28 shopping malls, 142 supermarkets, 455 markets, and 11,382 websites, e-commerce floors and thousands of convenience stores.

Oscar awards of World tourism industry honour Vietnam

Vietnam has won many categories of Asia Regional Awards 2020 voted by the World Travel Awards. The Awards are like the Oscars of the world tourism industry.

The results have been officially announced on the website of the World Travel Awards.

Accordingly, Vietnam has been named as Leading Heritage Destination, Leading Cultural Destination, and Leading Culinary Destination of Asia at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) 2020.

This is the second time in a row that Vietnam has won awards in the categories of cultural, heritage and culinary destinations.

The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in the central city of Da Nang was rewarded with titles Asia’s Leading Luxury Resort 2020, Asia’s Leading Green Resort 2020 and Asia’s Most Romantic Resort 2020.

Meanwhile, InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort was voted as Asia’s Leading Luxury Family Resort 2020.

According to the WTA, the enchanting mix of French Indochina haute couture in a mountain setting led Hotel de la Coupole, MGallery Sapa to be voted as the Asia’s Leading Design Hotel.

In the newcomer categories, Vietnam’s Premier Village Ha Long Bay Resort was named Asia’s Leading New Resort 2020.

In the aviation sector, an unprecedented fleet upgrade has helped Vietnam Airlines lift the title of Asia’s Leading Airline – Economy Class, Asia’s Leading Airline -- Premium Economy Class 2020 and Asia's Leading Cultural Airline 2020.

Bamboo Airways was honoured with the title of Asia’s Leading Regional Airline 2020.

Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh received two titles of Asia’s Leading Airport Lounge 2020 and Asia’s Leading Regional Airport 2020./.
