Stricter COVID-19 prevention measures will remain in place in a number of selected districts in Hanoi as the coronavirus outbreak is complicated.

The renewed order will apply to 10 districts of Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Cau Giay, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Thanh Xuan, Ha Dong, Thanh Tri and Hoang Mai, and parts of Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoai Duc, Thanh Oai and Thuong Tin districts.

Stricter COVID-19 prevention measures remain in place. Among the measures, local residents are required to stay indoors except in case of emergency. They are provided with ticket coupons to go shopping on selected days during the week.

Strict measures will be implemented in other districts, but to a lesser extent, according to the municipal administration.

This is the fourth time Hanoi has decided to extend its social distancing in order to halt the spread of the virus in the community.

In an effort to early detect and separate F0 cases from the community, the city will conduct extensive testing from now till September 5. It is anticipated that approximately one million samples will be taken, with priority to be given to residents living in lockdown or high-risk areas.

Hanoi has recorded between 60-80 new cases daily on average during the past week. There are many clusters of infections and their sources of infection remain unknown./.
