Additional 222 billion VND approved to pay salaries for work stoppage and production resumption

This is the result after more than 2 months of implementing Resolution 68/NQ-CP on a number of policies to support employees and employers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Decision 23/2021/QD-TTg stipulating the implementation of a number of policies to support employees and employers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

So far, the VBSP has disbursed 382 billion VND to 730 employers to pay salaries for work stoppage and production resumption for 109,373 workers in 63 provinces and cities. Thus, compared to the statistics as of August 17, 2021, the bank has approved an additional VND 222 billion to support employers.

Mr. Duong Quyet Thang, VBSP General Director, said that all 63 branches of the VBSP in provinces and cities have actively approached and guided employers to complete the loan applications. In addition, the provinces and cities in the area implementing Directive 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister have passed the National Public Service Portal and authorized post offices to receive and guide employers to complete the profile.

In addition, in order to create favourable conditions for employers and employees to be eligible to enjoy a loan package with 0% interest payment according to Decision 23/2021/QD-TTg, the VBSP offered free money transfers to employers.

Earlier, Standing Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Dao Minh Tu affirmed that the bank always handles and provides capital as quickly as possible so that the VBSP can promptly disburse it to businesses. He said that over the past time, together with the Party committees, authorities and local mass organizations, the VBSP has taken drastic action to bring the policy to life as soon as possible, helping businesses overcome difficulties./.
