Continuing to maintain and improve quality of policy credit

(CPV) - The Vietnam Bank for Social Policy (VBSP) has held a conference to review the quality of operations and credit at its branches in Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces.

Over the past time, the quality of credit at VBSP’s branches in Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and Ca Mau saw positive changes; overdue debts have been curbed and decreased significantly, and transaction activities at communes remained stable.

As of October 31, 2020, four branches achieved all five criteria set by the bank. For district and commune levels, units ranked fairly and well increased, while units ranked medium and weak decreased. So far, the branches have seen no district-level units ranked weak. 

Over the past 2 years, localities saw outstanding loans grow in accordance with the plan assigned by the VBSP General Director. As of October 31, Bac Lieu branch has a total outstanding loan of more than VND2.1 trillion (up 18%), Soc Trang with over VND3.68 trillion (up 13.7%), Kien Giang with VND3.72 trillion (up 11.8%) and Ca Mau with nearly VND2.75 trillion (up 13.3%). 

In addition, the branches actively advised the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, departments, related branches and authorities at district and communal levels to well implement Directive 40-CT/TW of the PCC Secretariat on strengthening the Party’s leadership on social policy credit in the four provinces. 

Speaking at the event, VBSP General Director Duong Quyet Thang asked the four branches to continue advising executive party committees and local authorities to well implement Directive 40 and closely coordinate with socio-political organizations, departments and related branches to carry out solutions to consolidate and improve the quality of operations and credit.

At the conference, the organizers announced Decisions of VBSP General Directors to 23 teams with outstanding achievements in consolidating and improving the quality of operations and quality of credit over the past 2 years./.
