Da Nang to have 100-million-USD data center

A Singaporean enterprise has just signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to invest in a Data Center area worth about 100 million USD in the Da Nang IT park.

On November 23, the Da Nang IT Park Development Joint Stock Company and Infracrowd Capital (Singapore) signed a MoU to invest in a Data Center area.

Currently, the Da Nang centralized IT park has 5 large-scale factories from 4000-6000m2/floor. It is being formed and will come into operation in the first quarter of 2022. In addition, the project of the export zone, the service ecological park, and the central park is being completed.

Mr. John Lee, founder and CEO of Infracrowd Capital, said that by signing the MoU, the two sides will officially become comprehensive strategic partners in developing green data centers and sustainable infrastructure in Vietnam. The cooperation opportunity is expected to help Da Nang realize its goal of becoming a smart city, promoting e-government services and the digital economy, including the application of artificial intelligence by 2030.

Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong, Director of the Danang Investment Promotion Agency said that the cooperation has great significance for attracting investment to Da Nang, especially in the IT field. Ms. Phuong also hoped that more investors in the IT field would come to the locality to invest and do business.

As of October 2021, Da Nang has more than 900 valid FDI projects with a total investment capital of over 3.8 billion USD; in which, there are 140 IT projects with a total investment of nearly 50 million USD.

The top 5 largest investors in Danang are Japan, Singapore, the United States, British Virgin Islands and the Republic of Korea./.
