Hanoi promotes implementing One Commune One Product program

Two districts and one town in Hanoi registered for new rural standards in 2019 and four districts register for 2020. The city is also promoting the implementation of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program.

The information was released at the conference in Hanoi by the City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on November 13th on the implementation of OCOP program and review of districts’ progress towards new rural standards in the city.

On July 8th, 2019, Hanoi city People’s Committee issued Decision 3629 on the implementation of OCOP programe in the city until 2020. Accordingly, it will consolidate the management system for the program; and provide training courses for all program managers, registered organizations, enterprises, cooperatives and households.

Hanoi strives to rank 500 products in the city list and 100 in the national list by 2020.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of Hanoi city People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu asked relevant agencies to continue providing information on the program and training courses to grassroots officials in order to achieve the goals in 2020.

Deputy Chief of the Central Coordination Office on New Rural Development Ngo Tat Thang shared experiences on developing One Village One Product (OVOP) in Japan and in several countries in the world; instructed participants how to implement the OCOP program in Vietnam; and introduced the success of some localities in OCOP program implementation./.
