The Ho Chi Minh (HCM) city People’s Committee in association with the Embassy of Finland in Vietnam launched the 2019 Innovation, Startup and Entrepreneurship Week (WHISE 2019) from October 15th to 19th.

The event offers opportunities for managers and start-up communities in HCM city to evaluate the results of innovation, creativity and start-up in 2019, thereby promoting the city’s startup ecosystem.
The week features over 30 events, including seminars, forums, startup events, contests and activities honoring organizations and individuals who have made great contributions to the innovative start-up ecosystem of the city.
Notably, an exhibition will be held on the occasion, introducing products in various fields of information and technology, digital transformation, e-commerce, high-tech agriculture, high technology, 3D printing technology and biotechnology.
The exhibits come from 120 start-up enterprises from Vietnam and many other countries, such as the Republic of Korea, Ireland, Sweden, Thailand and Singapore.
WHISE 2019 focuses on dealing with pressing issues on environmental pollution, traffic congestion, promotion of innovation startups to contribute to socio-economic development, and building the city into a smart urban area.
The five-day week is expected to help the city People’s Committee have mechanisms and policies to support the implementation of start-up and innovation projects./.
