Lao Cai’s cinnamon products exported to nine countries

Annual revenue from cinnamon exports is about 80-90 billion VND.

Over the past month, through Vietnam Tropical Products One Member Limited Liability Company, Tam Hoi Cooperative has exported over 100 tons of cinnamon sticks to Singapore, India and Thailand at the price of 120,000 VND per kilogram.

All boxes of cinnamon products for the first time have clearly labelled the origin of Lao Cai. Earlier, most of the units and businesses that were purchasing cinnamon in Lao Cai invested in building processing factories in Yen Bai, thus the exported products previously had the Yen Bai geographical indication.

Therefore, specialized agencies have advised the province to direct localities to focus on building the Lao Cai cinnamon brand./.
