More than VND 5.5 quadrillion added to the economy in 2020

This year, the country had nearly 135,000 newly-established enterprises with a total registered capital of more than 2.2 quadrillion and over 1 million workers, down 2.3% in number of enterprises, up 29.2% in registered capital and down 16.9% in workers compared to the same period last year.

Average registered capital of a newly-established enterprise in 2020 reached 16.6 billion VND, a year-on-year rise of 32.3%. Regarding more than 3.3 quadrillion VND of additional registered capital by 39,500 enterprises, more than 5.5 quadrillion VND was added to the economy, a year-on-year rise of 39%.

In addition, 44,100 enterprises recovered their operations this year, a year-on-year rise of 11.9%; bringing the total newly-established enterprises and those recovering their operations to 179,000; a year-on-year increase of 0.8%. On average, each month saw 14,900 new enterprises and those returning to operation.

In 2020, more than 101,000 enterprises suspended their business for a definite period, stopped operation to wait for dissolution procedures and completed dissolution procedures, up 13.9% against last year.

Each month, nearly 8,500 enterprises withdraw from the market./.
