According to Deputy Director General in charge of Payment Department Le Anh Dung, after nearly 6 months of pilot implementation, Mobile Money service has achieved positive results. As of the end of March 2022, more than 1.1 million customers have registered and used Mobile Money service.

In which, the number of customers registering and using the service in rural, mountainous, remote, border and island areas reached nearly 660,000, accounting for more than 60% of the total. More than 3,000 business points were established.

Besides the achievements, speakers at the conference also pointed out some difficulties and problems that need to be solved. Accordingly, because the service is new; in the initial phase of piloting, telecommunications businesses need to reach out to a wide range of customers to promote the benefits of the service in order to attract and create habits for customers.

Aiming to ensure the safe and effective implementation of Mobile Money service, the State Bank of Vietnam will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Communication and Ministry of Public Security monitor to follow up and evaluate the situation of pilot implementation of Mobile Money service; and at the same time guide and answer problems or problems arising during the implementation of the service./.
