The training course focused on briefly introducing the activities of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) and the VBSP’s branch in Hanoi; the role of the chairperson of the communal People’s Committee for social policy credit activities and new professional documents in the implementation of social policy credit.

According to Deputy Director of the VBSP’s branch in Hanoi Do Thanh Hien, in 18 years since establishment, policy credit activities of the branch have always received the attention of Party committees and local authorities at all levels. The Government leader has signed a document approving the addition of the chairpersons of the Communal People’s Committee joining the Representative Board of the District-level Board of Directors since 2015.

Thanks to the active participation and coordination of the chairpersons of the People’s Committees of communes, wards and towns as members of the Board of Representatives of the Board of Directors of the VBSP at the district level, the VBSP’s branch in Hanoi has effectively implemented policy credit programs. As of May 31, 2021, the total outstanding loans of 16 policy credit programs in the city reached more than 10.83 trillion VND, an increase of 663 billion VND compared to the beginning of the year.

Through the training session, Ms. Hien hoped that the delegates would absorb the ideas conveyed by the lecturers and that Chairperson of the People’s Committees of communes and towns would continue to direct the better implementation of social policy credit programs in the city.

At the training course, the delegates grasped professional content, and shared and discussed difficulties and experiences in practical implementation./.
